Full-Fibre Gigabit Broadband from Bogons
Can I get Bogons Full-Fibre Broadband?
Many rural and smaller communities across the UK still struggle with slow or unreliable broadband. Large telecom providers tend to prioritise dense urban areas, leaving many villages waiting years for meaningful improvements.
Bogons works directly with communities to design and build full-fibre broadband networks, delivering fast, reliable connectivity where it is needed most. Our networks provide symmetric gigabit speeds, meaning uploads are just as fast as downloads — ideal for home working, cloud services, streaming and business connectivity.
Still waiting for better broadband?
Many communities continue to rely on ageing copper infrastructure, resulting in slow speeds and unstable connections.
- Slow speeds — legacy technologies struggle to deliver what modern homes need.
- Limited investment — rural areas are often lower priority for large providers.
- Uncertain upgrade plans — promised improvements can lack clear timelines.
A different approach to fibre
Bogons works with communities to understand demand and design networks that deliver long-term, future-proof connectivity.
- Symmetric gigabit speeds
- Reliable full-fibre infrastructure
- Capacity for future growth
- Modern network architecture designed for resilience
Case Study: Balquhidder, Scotland
Balquhidder is a small rural community in Scotland where residents had waited more than twelve years for improved broadband. Before the Bogons fibre deployment, many homes relied on ADSL connections delivering speeds of less than 1 Mbps.
Before
- ADSL broadband
- Speeds often under 1 Mbps
- Unreliable connectivity
After
- Full-fibre broadband
- 1 Gbps symmetric speeds
- Reliable high-speed connectivity
This project received industry recognition, winning Best Community Project at the 2018 INCA AltNet Broadband Awards. The European Commission also created a video case study (YouTube) to recognise the success of the project.
Why full-fibre matters
Modern homes and businesses depend on reliable connectivity more than ever before. Fibre provides capacity for:
- Multiple 4K streaming services
- Video conferencing and remote work
- Cloud storage and backups
- Online gaming
- Smart home devices
- Business and professional services
Symmetric gigabit speeds
Many broadband services advertise fast download speeds but provide much slower uploads. Bogons fibre networks provide symmetric connectivity — upload speeds are the same as download speeds.
- Remote working and video calls
- Cloud backups and file sharing
- Content creation
- Home servers and remote access
- Business connectivity
If you really need it, we can also offer multi-gigabit services (up to 10Gbps) in suitable areas.
Built with communities
Building a fibre network requires significant investment, which is why many smaller communities are overlooked by large telecom operators. Bogons works directly with communities to understand demand and explore the feasibility of fibre deployments.
When communities come together to demonstrate demand, it becomes possible to deliver infrastructure that might otherwise never be built — with a focus on sustainability and long-term service quality.
Built by network engineers
Bogons networks are designed and operated by experienced network engineers with many years of experience building and running ISP infrastructure. This engineering-first approach ensures our networks are designed for reliability, performance and long-term scalability.
- Fibre network planning and design
- Optical transport and access networks
- IP routing and network architecture
- Resilient design and capacity planning
- Operational monitoring and support
Bring fibre to your community
We’ve started our build in some areas and are gathering interest in others. If your community struggles with poor broadband, register your interest using the postcode checker at the top of this page.
